‘Thoughts on horsemanship’

An evening with Ben Hart
Date: 14th July 2006
Venue: Hardwick Court Farm, Chertsey, just
off junct 11 M25 (directions will be provided with the ticket).
Time: 7pm onwards
Ben Hart (formerly Company of Horses,
now Hart’s Horsemanship)
will be discussing aspects of horsemanship in a light hearted
and informal way: looking at equine training trough the science
of behaviour. A fun evening with plenty of time for questions.
Ben has a mission to “help people
better understand horses, donkeys and mules, by improving
knowledge of behaviour and developing an understanding of
the true nature of the equine species.”
Based on mutual trust between equine and human, using common
sense and honesty to encourage people to follow their own path,
he promotes no single method, relying instead on the balance
of art and science to develop a long-term approach to equine
training and behaviour.
All profit to the equine charity TAWS.
TAWS exists to promote improved management, health and welfare
of transport and draft animals. Many of the world’s
poorest people are dependent on horses, oxen, donkeys, camels,
mules and buffaloes to cultivate land and transport goods
and people. Much is known about animal health, welfare and
management BUT it is poorly disseminated to communities in
the third world: TAWS aims to change this.
This is a joint event with the Natural
Horse Group. Tickets £7.50.
