Aromatherapy
AROMATHERAPY for Horses :-
The use of Aromatherapy can be traced back to the Ancient Egyptians. The Priests were amongst the first to discover and understand the physical and emotional benefits of aromatics. (As early as 3500bc they were using Frankincense to clear the mind!) Through Roman times and 17th Century England many essential oils were used for a variety of purposes. For example the Romans used oils for massage and to fragrance their homes. Pomanders using Oranges and Cloves were used to help ward of The Black Death! Horseman of yesteryear used many oils, herbs and plants to aid them in the training of uncontrollable horses. Gaining them much respect in the community and putting themselves in a position of high esteem.
Equine Aromatherapy is now widely accepted as an effective use of treating many horse ailments. You only have to look at the huge range of natural fly sprays on today’s market to see an example of its popularity! Horses are extremely sensitive and responsive animals. It is surely no surprise, how well they react to the subtle and fragrant scents of this healing art.
